This COVID-19 pandemic the whole world is lockdown and everyone is not convenient to do regular exercises in their homes due to lack of gym equipments. So we all know the role of the immune system is the most important part of this coronavirus time. If our immune system is good the power of getting out from the illness is fast and relevant. I am presenting you the ancient yoga from the Vedic time. In all the four Vedas we hear something about the yoga and yogis. Maharishi Patanjali invent the yoga (asanas, pranayama, mudra and bandhas). The role of yoga is a very vital component in Vedic lifestyle. As per the Indian culture, the yoga is quaint in itself. In Mahabharata god, Krishna also explains the role of yoga to control the mind and help Arjun to see the importance of inner conscientious so he can able to differentiate between dharma and Karama. The important part of pranayama is Kumbha(hold the breath) breathing system is most important in the function and it also affects the nervous system of our body. As we know human beings take breathe 15th times in a minute and 21600times in 24 hours. Pranayama work as a bridge in between conscious and subconscious mind.
As per our title, we explain the steps to do pranayama and its benefit:_
Nadhi sodhan pranayama
Nadhi means the path and sadhana means clean it. so as per the meaning definition of nadhi sodhan is clean the path of nostrils to take the oxygen in and carbohydrates out.

nadhi sodhan Pranayam clean path of nostrils so we can take fresh air in and bad air out inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide slowly animals like dog breathe fast so it's maximum age is 12 years other animals like turtle breathe slow so age is longer. As per the above explanation, we say that the faster you breathe short you live and longer you breathe maximise your chance of longer age. The regular practice of nadhi-sodhan gives us the longer breathe so automatically our life is maximised and it also regulates the blood circulation in our body and open all blockages of nerves the power of concentration is increasing. So We can reach easily towards our goal because of concentration power. It balance the edha and pingla nadhi result our mind is always in state situation.
Bhastrika pranayama
- Sit in a comfortable position like padmasana, half padmasana and dhyanasan
- Take hand in Gyan mudra or chandrmudra
- Straight your head and backbone properly
- Close the eyes and feel the calmness
- Take deep breathe and inhale and exhale forcefully
- Take breathe from your nostrils, not from your mouth
- Repeat it 10th breathe
- After 10th forcefully breathe take a long inhale and exhale slowly-slowly
- Do it five consecutive times with one-minute rest
- Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing
- Focused on your breath
- Don't practice more than of your capacity

Bhastrika pranayama can do everyone except who is suffering from heart-related disease and BP(blood pressure) because it increases the rate of heartbeat. It finished all the diseases related to vat, pit and khaf. Due to forceful breathing, the level of oxygen mixed with blood and carbon dioxide exhale fastly rate increase. It massages all the internal parts of the body. It also increase the reproduction power of women if it is practised with proper precaution at least for six months. Bhastrika decreases the rate of carbon dioxide in the lungs. It is the best exercise for who is suffering from lungs related diseases like asthma, pneumonia, lung cancer and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) if you are struggling from any serious diseases please consult to your yoga guru.
Kapalbhati pranayama
- Best if you sit in sidhaasan
- Straight your head and marudanad (backbone)
- Close your eyes and sit in gyanmudra
- Feel the calmness around you
- Take deep breaths from your both nostrils
- Then forcefully exhale relatively
- Repeat it 10 times
- Stop and take deep breathe
- Repeat it 3 circles then comes into relax position
Difference between bhastrika and kapalbhati?
Both the pranayama bhastrika and kapalbhati is almost same but the difference is in bhastrika both exhale and inhale is forcefully. And in kapalbhati the exhalation is forceful. Both the pranayama gives calmness and relaxes to the body. If you are a student you should definitely do both pranayama I am also a student when I started to Practicing it I fell tremendous change in mind body and soul.
Kapalbhati purifies the edha (moon) and pingla( sun) nadhi. It gives energy for mental activities. If you are a sleepy person you should do this pranayama. It relaxes your mind therefore the sleep is gone away. As similar as bhastrika kapalbhati also clean the lungs. It heal the patients who is suffering from bronchitis or any lungs related diseases with the precaution of doctors. Kapal bhati strong our digestive system. It sharp the mind the students should absolutely do this pranayama to boost their mental level.
Kapalbhti is defined as kapal means head (brain) bhati means purify so Kapalbhti purify the nerves of you brain and it gives light to our mindset. If you are don't able to focus on anything Kapalbhti is best. The age group between 16 to 30 male and females always think about sex, movies and many u relevant things which are not relevant to our futures so if you are one of them you should start the practice now.
Bharamari pranayama
- Sit in a comfortable position
